Tower Tombs

This was probably the most interesting thing about Palmyra for me: these things can hold up to 300 corpses each, one stacked on top of the other. They've all been pillaged and the entrances are now sealed off but you can climb into them with a little effort, and see the fragments of human bones and imagine what it must have been like back in the day.
