Dull wet day - cabin too dark to see to read or write in. Did not turn out till 4 o’clock when I went out just for 5 minutes before dinner and found to my surprise, that it was blowing much harder than was thought, though the ship going along so steadily most of the topsails were taken in. Went to bed with a head on. Therm. 52º Bar 29.64.

12 noon: Lat 41.55S & Long 50.30E. Days run 206 miles.
