Fancy, Folded a towels
A Bat, a Rabbit, a Monkey and Lulu Let's make the very most of these last two days. Not going to let one piece of this high life pass us by, we ordered room service again for the pre-breakfast. What a way to greet the beautiful morning: enjoying the company of our good friends on our balconies over looking the majestic Atlantic Ocean. I've died; I know it! Okay, enough snacking...the main dining room beckons us for the biggie breakfast. Today, I selected "Crab Cake Eggs Benedict" plus a chocolate drizzled croissant. Don't say it....I already know I am heading to become a participant on the "Greatest Loser" show. Our daily ritual after breakfast is to go to the casino and check the lottery tickets where Sam & Cory have put their hopes and dreams. Cory won a Casino T-shirt for his winning points from playing in the casino. Did I say T-shirt? Let's talk about more T-shirts.....On the promenade deck, we came upon a mega T-shirt sale. It was just like Gimbel's basement. Grabbing, throwing, yanking, pulling.....$10 each for assorted cruise ship/ Caribbean shirts.....we bought six! It was a madhouse.....even one of the tables collapsed because of the chaotic brew-haw. Cory and I would love to have some Towel Folding Lesson
The audience could participate sort of booth set up on this ship....the passengers seem to buy tons of everything no matter the price and no matter what it is. If it's for sale: they buy it! Next on our agenda was something I have mentioned in a past blog prior to this cruise. I stated there should be a course on towel-folding (into ingenious and clever figures)....well, guess what....they have a course on towel folding and Sandy & I attended. Cory & Sam just couldn't share our interest. Too bad for them. Every night, we have a different animal intrequintly folded on our bed. After watching the demonstration, we appreciate the talent, time and effort that went into each creation. So, if you are in need of a fancy towel folder....you can call upon either of us. Moving on to another session: a cake decorating class. Each venue is very entertaining as well as helpful. Not missing a beat, we flew off to the "Back Stage Tour". Here we met five cast members from various shows we saw. Found out that Edna, the mother in Hairspray, was actually a man! Surprise! They did a Q & A before having all of us come on
stage to see some of the props close up. It all was very interesting. Guess what time it is now........what time? It's lunchtime again so off we marched to the sumptuous buffet. They are now just bringing wheelbarrows of food to our table and dumping the load onto our plates. The Golden Corral back in Kissimmee looks like a food kitchen in comparison. We've had many opportunities to ride the elevators. Sandy takes the stairs but after that first mountainous climb that almost put me in ICU, I've hoped aboard the mechanical lift. I have found a new calling: elevator lady. I have taken on the role of holding the door open as people enter and exit the elevator, announcing our various floor stops and a few other comments thrown in for good measure. By the time we've reached our destination, we usually have made some new friends. Remember, in the beginning when the comedian called me the "crazy nurse".....change that to "crazy elevator lady". I feel like my grandmother, who, no matter what, took an afternoon nap. Between the mega meals and things to do....I am wishing for that heavenly bed more than anything. But this time, the rest
was brief because it's time to pack for home. We now have one more bag than what we started with....plus boxes of liquor. Hospitality hour in our stateroom followed this strenuous work and then we went "you know where!"....Dinner! This will be our last dinner when we will be served by our regular wait staff. Noooooo. Say it's not to be. From the beginning, they have called us by our names, had our desired drinks waiting for us on our table and treated us with constant service that can only compare to what Queen Elizabeth probably receives. Dessert tonight was a key lime pie to die for. If you go or watch the NYC Macy Day Parade, you will probably see me: I'll be one of the big parade balloons. I'll wave so wave back. Our last entertainment on the cruise was a farewell improv comedy show. Terrific! Since that one was so good, another one could only be better so we trotted off to a second comedy show. Talk about being all laughed out. We relaxed one last time in a beautiful setting in the Central Park district. We listened to two violin instrumentalists play a soothing tune; lulling
us into a fantasy dreamland. As I said to Sam tonight, we haven't done and seen this much in years. I am so glad to have had this opportunity to share all of this with you because it gives me "my memory diary" of this fantastic voyage. Even with all that I have covered, there was so much we still left untouched. We really didn't do the complete pool experience. We didn't make it to the multitude of other restaurants and bars. Next time??? I hope you have enjoyed sailing along with us and that you haven't gone away hungry....A ships size is determined in tonnage. My present status will be figured by the same. Experiencing such a wonderful adventure is terrific but knowing you have been right along with us in your trusty life jackets....makes it, oh, so much more thrilling. Thank you for your companionship. Side note: This cruise ship has many hard covered lifeboats strapped along the outside. I think some of my previous photos have shown them. There are also many barrels on the ship's side that have blow-up boats in them--- for those in steerage??? I took pictures of the instructions that show you how
you would get into these boats.....looks like you get inside a gigantic tube-like sock and shimmy your way down it....WOW..... your life is saved as a sock monkey! This floating palace has been truly awesome.....no words or pictures can fully describe it. Just take my honest word: it was unbelievable and a memory made forever. Now, start packing!
