Today is a sea day; time to relax. We slept in, ate breakfast and then walked around the outside deck. Up and down stairs, around the track to get some exercise. Too much food and wine!
We found a secluded deck (Serenity deck) and Ken, Annie, Bobbie and I relaxed there for a while. Spa music plays on this deck so it was very relaxing. Annie and I have an appointment at the Spa. We are having combination stone massage, foot massage and scalp massage, so we head for the rooms to take a shower. An hour later we meet up in the relaxation room after our treatments: it was heavenly. Annie's back has been hurting, so the massage helped a lot. We next went to a makeup seminar (still in our robes); It basically consisted of this orange powdery makeup they brush all over your face and tell you look beautiful. We started walking around (in our robes) with no destination in mind and we ended up at the bar next to the casino. I order cranberry juice and Annie orders a martini. Well, ok, I didn't know it was martini time, so I order one too. Annie instructs are
Bar server how to properly make a apple martini; she is very nice and does as we wish and it is delicious. We quickly become tipsy (no lunch) and Annie says: how much better does it get: I am in my robe, no bra, just had a massage, sitting on a ship, drinking a martini in the early afternoon, next to the casino with no schedule to fulfill. Jack comes by and sees us sitting in public in our robes and gets a good laugh. Of course we are quickly getting silly and we take his picture with us; take a picture of our bar server. She had made an extra vodka drink to taste and it was sitting there untouched. We asked Jack if he wanted it and he drank it down. It was blue. I have a rule: I do not drink anything blue. I did a long time ago and I got very very sick. I said,"let's go see if the guys are playing bean bag"-I don't like to say corn hole 😊
We look over the balcony to the lobby and we see them waiting for their turn. It is very crowded and people are very
serious about this game. It is very quiet as people watch.
Annie and I get on the glass elevator to head down to them. She gets close to the edge and I say move back, people can see up your robe! She starts laughing so hard, I thought she was going to..well you know.
We get down to join the bean bag group and Kenny, Larry, Henna and Bobbie can see we have had a drink and sees us in our robes! A few people looked, but we didn't care. That's what vodka does to you.
It was now Kenny and Larry's turn. They get up and of course we cheer for every point they score. Once when Kenny got the bean bag through the hole: Annie yells "slap and tickle for you tonight Kenny!". I thought the elderly man next to us was going to fall off his chair. The silence and concentration of the game has now ended as two robed, orange faced, martini drinking girls have their fun.
The guys WIN! We all go the bar to celebrate. Henna feels she has to catch up and gets 2 drinks. We had fun there (still in our robes)
talking, laughing and taking pictures. You will see our orange faces when I can upload the pictures.
We miss the cocktail party the ship is having for past cruisers. We were having our own.
It was time for to get ready for dinner. My hair was oily from the massage, I had 2 martini's and it looked better than it had the entire trip. Why does it always happen that way.
We all went to the upscale restaurant (for a fee) and had a nice dinner: steak and lobster.
Everyone went to the show, but after a few minutes, Ken and I left and sat out on our balcony to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Good night!
