Hi Guys

Well we finally took possession of our Sundance 5th Wheeler on the 8th March and then we moved out of the Redcliffe apartment and moved into our rig at Tallebudgera Tourist Park on the 11th. Unfortunately for us when the van was measured for weight just prior to our receiving it, it turned out to be 5 tonne bare weight and 6.5 tonne fully loaded. This is far in excess of the limitations of our Ford F250 which we had already purchased. We found a better tow vehicle, a Ford F350 in Perth and on 29th March we flew over there and the next day drove it back to the Gold Coast arriving back on 4th April which is 4,500 kms in 5 days (never again). We slept in the car for 3 nights and stayed in motels for the other 2 nights. We then settled into our new home at Tallebudgera up until Easter Thursday whilst we were having the hitch and air brakes installed on the F350. We hooked up the rig early that morning of the 21st and during some testing procedures the Turbocharger Intercooler blew up. This was a bit of a shock to us so we had to park the 5th Wheeler on the road/footpath outside of Spectrum RV at Burleigh Heads for the Easter break. We have power and water connected which is great and park fees are very cheap here. The part for the F350 should arrive down here on the 27th from Brisbane and be installed on the same day so we are hoping to get away this Thursday to Kumbia just outside Kingaroy to spend some time with our friends before heading north towards Cairns via the Cania Gorge. To our friends in Brisbane who we had hoped to see before departing we have to say a big sorry as we were not able to make it up to Redcliffe with the 5th Wheeler before departing because of the problems we have had. We love the 5th Wheeler and are excìted to get back on the road.

Enjoy your travels
Winter has set in here, our first in 3 years, wish we were back in oz! Your rig looks huge, Chris says "it sure looks like you've got a big one !" Our van with Don(Chris' cousin) and Pattie has just left Carnarvon Gorge heading west, they said there's lots of evidence of the recent flooding around. They had 5 days at Cania Gorge, and are loving it. Look forward to hearing where you will roam this time. Wow, that was a quick trip back from Perth. Good luck and safe travels Lynne and Chris

never a dull moment
Hi Trev, Marg best the turbo blew up then rather than in the middle of nowhere....have a good trip. We had a quiet easter i worked at Sirromet for 3 days which didn't please Kris much plus my Mum stayed with us at Wello Point so didn't help either. As you probably know Tim and Katie are now in their house at Alex Hills and we move next Wednesday 4th, not looking forward to that. Look after yourselves and we'll contact again soon.....
