Arrived in Picton, hired a car for a few days going to explore abit of the South Island before we check into out working hostel!!
Check into a place called Anakiwa Lodge yha oh my god its such a lush place, amazing views, were in a vally so were surrounded by loads of green hilly mountains, a lovely lake, its soo peacefull, omg its the nicest place weve ever stayed, the lodge is soo lovely,we have a 4bed dorm, its really spacious, its just like abit of luxury for us,hehe! we watched finding nemo in the lounge,forgot how funny that film was, hehe, there was about 300 dvd's to choose from,lol after we had a lasana from the lodge, which was the nicest lasana weve ever eaten, this place every thing about it is just soo amazing i cant stop saying it!!
after food we went for a walk down to the lake, its so beutiful then had a relaxing nigt in the Jacuzzi...ohhhhhh!!

Woke really early today 6.30am to head down to the Fox Glasiers snowy icey mountains, going to take us about 8hrs,lol!!! We are so hardcore with our driving now, hehe, we go on a day trip that takes us 8 hrs to get there...haaaa!!
Driving around you see the most amazing scenery,lots of green hilly mountains, lakes and rivers. Stoped off at Greymouth about 12, filled up on fuel and got some food supplys.
In the distance you can see the snowy mountains, omg were like driving along and all u can see is huge snowy mountains, its so exciting to see :)

Drove to Fanz Josef Glasiers parked up and headed down, didnt no what to exspect. We got to the edge and it was roped off saying "danger do not enter" but everyone was climing over the rope to try and get as close as possible to the Glasier. We had to walk through this stream of ice cold water, it was like cloudy grey and was freeeezing, literually walked through it for 30seconds and our feet were knumb...ouch!!!!
The Glasier looked like a huge water fall that had been iced over, its been iced for millions of years but its slowly getting smaller over the years, as the ice breaks off, you cant get right up close unless you were with a tour guide because theres a massive fast flowing river there and it has huge big chunks of ice that would take your legs off!!! Dont fancy that!! hehe!!
On the way back there were loads of Snappy Jappys and there trypods...Haaaa they are every where, hehe!! They crack us right up, dont no how they can carry those trypods round day and night.

Drove then to Fox Glasier but all the roads were shut off :( as we were driving back we got pulled over by the police for speeding and got giving $120 fine...naughty lewis was doing 120 kph!! The police man asked where we heading and we said Hanmer Springs, then said where we had come from...Picton to Franz josef, he was like "Waaaaaat" he was like i think you guys should find somewhere to sleep, fairplay for trying to see the whole island in 1 day...haaaa!!!
Found this camping spot to sleep for the night, hehe, first time we will be using are sleeping bags.
The place is just a field, with loads of tree and a little toilet cubicle, dont think you have to pay. Played some scrabble and then put loads of scarfs in the windows so no peeping toms could peer in,a nd we could see out, it was sceary, pitch black, loads of nice stars :) Night Night...... Drove about 800 km today...woooop!!!!

Woke about 8.30 with a well stiff neck, hehe!! Lew couldnt feel his legs,lol, slept fine apart from that though. Freshened up, then made some rolls for are journey, driving along you see excactly the same animals as what we have, cows, sheep and goats, they same road signs, they even have stage coach,lol!!
Drove to Hanmer Springs where they have loads of natural hot pools, mineral and sulpur pools, the sulphur ones stink of rotton eggs...yuuuk!! Felt nice on your skin though, spent a couple hours here.
Drove on towards Blenhium stopped off at this place by the sea where its a really good place to spot seals, we saw 3 massive ones...ahhhhhh one was comming out of the water, swimming around, showing off for the cameras, hehe!! He then got out of the water and was scraching his face and body, everyone was taking pictures of him, he was loving it, such a show off, hehe, so funny!!
