As we promised yesterday here are some photos from Abel Tasman National Park and areas south...

After a nice rest, spending three days in Punakaiki, we will continue heading south, stopping at the Fox Glacier and then heading to Milford Sound.

For those who can't hike the four day trail, you can take a shuttle to key points of the trail. For those camping, they even shuttle your gear!!

WE boarded the boat on land and a tractor pulled us to the launch.

The taxi stopped at numerous points to drop off gear and pick it up. We had a great tour of the park before we even stepped on land.

There were a couple of places that we could only cross when the tide (5 metres!) was out.

We only hiked 12 km the first day and then returned to our hostel to sleep.

Ok... so we had not yet done any of the "extreme" crazy activites NZ has to offer, and we really wanted to see more of the gorge, so we bit the bullet and jumped into a boat full of senior citizens!

We did donuts on the water, zoomed through rapids at 90km an hour and giggled at the little old woman squealing in delight!

Hi you two! Thanks for the link! Love reading your entries and the pics. Looks like an awesome trip. Definitely a trip high on our list. We're off to south central Costa Rica in March...going to play with the monkeys! Have tons of fun and would love to hear more when you get home.
