Gary's Panoramic of the Mt. Fyffe Summit Jess's Panoramic #1 Jess's Panoramic #2 Jess's Panoramic #3 Ah so long since an entry! I have to admit... being in front of a computer, at the moment, is not my first choice in activities! But, none-the-less, you all know how much I love to put blogs up. So, this should catch you up on our last couple adventurous weeks!
First... we climbed a mountain called Mt. Fyffe in Kaikoura before we left and headed north. To say this was difficult is an understatement. In fact, in the beginning, I didn't think I could do it and sent Gary along ahead... you will be able to see our set of pictures together... but I kept trudging along, knowing that he was ahead of me and HAD to run into me on the way down anyway... it was cool because where I knew I would run into him, he didn't think the same
and the moment when we crossed paths was pretty cool! In any case, he had already reached the summit and returned back to head up there with me... considering i was absolutely dying, it was the only nice thing to do, eh?
We headed down (even harder at times than up. It was a difficult day, but we both felt great... headed out of Kaikoura the next day and up towards Nelson... we stopped in Blenheim and didn't stay, but will return there at a later date. In Nelson, we just wanted to be beach bums so we found a really great campsite on the beach and stayed there for a couple days... enjoyed the town a bit as well as the beautiful surroundings.
After our rest... we headed north (see next blog)...
