after that night we headed upto the next Glacier i mentioned, Fox Glacier.
in this one we had some goings on. i actually booked to hike upon to said Glacier and try my luck against mother New Zealand. so after the breifing, we put on our coats, and our boots, and got in the coach which took us to the bottom of this monster.
we headed our of the coach with our guide, who has the coolest beard in the world, i wanted to touch it - but daren't ask him. we were at the bottom but we still had to walk up the valley and back down to get onto it 1/4 up.
so we set off, i had the canadain infront of me, and the irish behind me. so i was in stitches cos if one wasn't telling a joke the other was moaning about walking. i'll let you decide who was the joker.
anyway after boot camp walk through what seemed to be set for lost (not that i've ever watched it but i would imagine) to arrived at the Glacier egde and jumped (in a walking manner) onto it.
there had been a team of this tour group on the glacier since early this morning to cut steps out for us as i is very uneven and the "unexperienced" (which i think really meant girls) wouldn't be able to walk on.
this was a play ground of fun for me!! i loved it, it was so much fun climbing around this thing, and treating it like a toy. then even more fun - the guide gave me hius pick axe!! but then he decided to take it off me. i might of got alittle excited with it and could of became a hazard to humanity.
and there was little streams of melted ice running down the whole thing, so i got a bottle full and drank the ice cold glacier water > it was the purest water i've ever had, it was so nice i kept it and tried it the next day, and it was still as fresh and crisp. bloody good water.
anyway after a hour on that we headed back off it and through the path we took to get here.
back at base we had lunch (i bought a carrot and ate it) and we set off on the coach to out next destination > Queenstown via the Haast Pass - another beautiful drive-through.
(on a subnote, you could come to new zealand, coach the whole of the south island and only gett off for toilet breaks and food, and you'd still have one of the best holidays ever just looking at places - so i didn't mind sitting on the bus for hours everyday).
