Our last few days in New Zealand were spent in Christchurch, a delightful city and the largest in the South Island. We stayed the the Kiwi House, a lovely hostel which was inhabited by loads of Japanese. In Christchurch we caught up with our diaries and blogs. We also bought a new Camera (hopefully the last). As we hadn't seen the Kiwi bird in the wild, we decided to do the next best thing and see one in captivity at the local Aquarium, of all places! The Kiwi were alot more elegant than they look on postcards and were actually quite big.
There was a huge ceremony in the town square to celebrate the Budha's birthday which was interesting to watch.
