We flew from Santiago to Aukland. It still freaks me out a little that even though the flight was only 13 hours we magaged to lose an entire day of our lives.
We drove from Aukland up to Rotorua. We had lunch at a blueberry farm (blueberry pankakes and a venison pie with blueberries) and then raided the gift shop. Did anyone know that blueberries are a superfood.
Next day we went jet boating on WAikato River doing wicked 360s and other fun stuff. We ended up at Orakei Korako thermal park and had a nice walk around. You can see the pictures below.
We then drove up to Coromandel for a final bit of relaxation. We went on the famous Driving Creek Railway which is a narrow gauge mountain railway which took us through tunnels, backward switches and native forest up to a lovel viewing pioint.
We also visited a butterfly and orchard park, took a boat to Cathederal Cove and visited the hot water beach (although we decided we didn't feel like getting wet)
They have a lot of nice art and craft in this region and for this reason we found ourselves on
a very scary gravel road with enough room for 1.5 cars and many many blind turns. Luckily we didn't have an accident (although we had a close call with a speeding lunitic coming the other way) and we didn't plunge down the mountain to our death. Turns out it was well worth visiting this potter and we found some stuff we really liked - although now we have to get it on the airplane.
Anyway that's it. We are heading home to Australia. I start my job in a week in business services law and Evana has some temp work lined up. Thanks for reading (or looking at the pictures). Remember there will be a test.
