Hello Ellie here but daddy is doing the typing.
Aisha didn't want to go in the cave but she loved the glow worm caves and wanted to go in again.
did you know that there are four stages of the glow worm. don't remember the first stage, the next is the lava then the pupa and lastly the fly. The cycle is 12 months and the are lava for 9 month. This is the bit when the hang threads from the roof of the cave to catch flys and stuff like spiders. The use the waste from what they eat to glow a funny green colour.
Stalagmites come from the floor and stalagtites come from the ceiling they take a long time, 400-500 years per inch.
I liked the caves. we went in to two different caves. One was a walk around which took two hours and the other was on a boat to see the glow worms.
In the first cave we saw some really funky curtain formations that the man said took 200 thousand years to form. There was another one that looked like davey jones from the pirates of the carribean.
I fell up the stairs cos it was very dark and hurt my hand. I washed it in the water coming down from the ceiling and it was all better again. Mummy said that if I caught too much I might turn in to a stalagmite.
We had falling apart ice creams in Russell that we got all messy and sticky from. That's for Phoebe.
Aisha's been a pain in the bottom since she was six and I want to come home, but I am having fun.
Every where we go there are lots of big silly signs of cows and stuff. On the way to the caves this morning we saw a big apple, some big kiwi's one, was painted multicoloured and the other was painted in the new zealand flag, and lots of cows.
