I just bought my vehicle today. It took all of about 1 hour. Actually it was the only one I drove. I now have buyers remorse and am worried that I got taken. I paid $2000 NZD for a 1986 Toyota Hiace camper van. But it had racks and there were only 2 vans on the lot that had racks. I forget what they wanted for the other one but I think they were asking around 4000.
So we'll see as long as it holds up for 2 months.
So now I'll really be living in a "Van down by the river"
Now some other just generic rantings about Oz and to an extent NZ.
So they have these cool intersections that have this "everybody walks" setting. All the cars are stopped and the green people on the "walk" signs are all lit up. So there are always about 25% of the people going diaganol through the whole interesection.
Pubs and Bars have this real fake sense of what they are. I first noticed it in Perth before Black Betty's when I was told to put on close toed shoes, not my chacos before we went out. Then there was the Melbourne incident where I couldn't get into the pub with my chacos. I tried 3 times and even swapped shoes with the girl next to me. The bouncer just kept saying no open toed shoes. But they let girls in. He finally explained that is was just to casual for a guy. I think they are really trying to prevent the board shorts and flip flop look. And they want as many girls in as possible. Most of the bars seem to be real sausage fests. (Tracy have fun explaining that one)
So last night I'm headed into the Irish Pub and I get the same thing about the chacos. But this time.... I have a doctors excuse. Really. When I went to the therapist about my achilles (just tendinitis) I got her to right a note that said I couldn't wear closed toed shoes. The guy let me in.
Today besides buying a car.
I watched the St. Patty's day parade.
And spent some time at the St. Patty's festival. I'm headed back in a bit.
But this was really cool and I have to share.
The Porta-Potty was amazing. It flushed and was incredibly clean.
Ok, that is really all I can remember that I wanted to rant about.

WTF? Do they celebrate it earlier than us Yanks?
You had to go to New Zealand to find that. You could have always come to Seattle.
hey Farrell,
Preston, Dewald and I are heading to the Motley Crue show tonite... can we wear open toed shoes to it?
Yes I think you can wear any shoes you want. They are more concerned that you have enough leather on or an old ripped T-shirt
