Auckland - City of Sails

Day 1 of trip
We finally made it!! (both out of the country that is). NZ is our first stop and rather than bore you with endless descriptions of our adventures, we've decided that a bullet point summary of our highlights is the best way to go. So hello to everyone who is busy at work, this is the start of our trip!

 • City highlights: ferry to devonport and walk to the island peak for fantastic views of auckland; strolling down the high street in parnell for shopping and lunch (reputed to be the best pizza in auckland at "non solo" restaurant); marvelling at the excessive number of kebab shops in the city

 • Accommodation rating: 4/5 due to the massive king bed AND squidgey pillows (although Paul did rate the large plasma very highly)

 • Food: GREAT. Having breakfast in a cute cafe on vulcan street (homemade muffins and organic produce) combined with greatest pizza in auckland had us happy like little piggies

 • Misc: service and people here are soooooo nice....even though we're auzzie/brit travellers.
