My fleeting visit to Coromandel was over as soon as it began, as today I'm heading back down the other side of the peninsular towards Thames and then round to Auckland to meet Ray and Monique, who I will be staying with until Sunday. Ray is a friend of Dad's from the Bootle days and emigrated out here 40 years ago, so I've never met him before, apart from a quick Skype session. Nothing like throwing yourself into the unknown eh... The journey was quick but took me along the coastline for my final bendy road drive in the bean. We're nearly at the end of our first week! have spent a lot of it jet lagged, but we've made lots of trips into the city to flat hunt and job hunt. Also went for dinner and drinks with James's friends on Friday, special offer dinner, came to like 3 quid each for dinner and drinks! awesome! Went to a quiz night on Saturday and came second because of 1 point! Emma's fault--- she mistook a camel for a dromadaire.... honest mistake! And today was veeeeery successful! We now are the proud owners (or renters but.... owners sounds better) of a gorgeous central flat all lovely and furnished with a pool and gym and tv! More photos to come!
