holiday time for the dodds

Today we went for a swim, then a quick cup of tea with mum and dad, then home to pack for our holiday......



We arrived in Devonport in time for lunch - we booked into our holiday home and put on the heater - it was very cold!! we had lunch in the sunshine and then went for a long walk before returning for poached eggs on toast and an early night!!



Next morning, after a very brisk walk as it was so cold, we had a long leisurely breakfast and then set off to explore....we walked along Cheltenham Beach to Narrow Neck Beach, to the golf course, and kept on walking and walking...........and ended up at the Navy Museum Cafe for a late morning tea....we also had a quick look at the museum - there is a photo of a hammock which the sailors slept in!!



After a rest and late lunch we took the ferry to Auckland and walked up and down Queen Street and then met Ben and Claire for a "catch up" The cafe was lovely and warm in front of the fire and we had a good long talk before heading back on the Ferry to Devonport.



Next morning we had time for another walk and then a coffee before heading off to Hamilton.
