This morning I went for a run and then a swim at Cheltenham Beach before breakfast while Leigh walked to the Wharf by the Navy Museum. Then we met for breakfast at our studio and then set off for the Ferry Building where we sat and enjoyed people watching before catching the Ferry to meet Ben and Claire in Auckland.

We had such a lovely time in Auckland - we looked at "the worm" which is a temporary building erected for the Rugby World Cup - walked over the "roll over bridge" which lifts in the middle when the boats go through - had a ride on the tram - ate fish and chips at the fish market (thanks Ben) which were delicious! - then we saw all the reclaimed land which is now a children's playground, a big water feature, a place for concerts (there was a band playing here), two big silos one of which is being used for an open air cinema and lots of places where new residential buildings are going to be erected. Then we rode in another tram back to our starting point and Ben and Claire drove us back to their place where we were treated to afternoon tea and a guided tour of all the new layout to the flat including the garden in pots outside the front door - look at the photos!!

After a very successful day, we got the ferry back and walked through all the thousands of people who were attending the wine festival in Devonport and made our way home to dinner in the garden and an early night!!

Busy busy day
You sure had a busy day. So much to see. Do you have a holiday place in Devonport Robyn? The roll-over bridge and the rugby world cup building look great. I love the look of all the home grown veges too!

Hi Sue
the holiday place is booked through holidayhomes.co.nz - this is where Leigh and I always try and book our holidays as they always seem to be nicer and sometimes a bit cheaper than motels....
