Well here we are in cloudy and rainy Auckland. Auckland you say - I thought you were going to South America on Holidays?? Great flight from Brisbane, landed safely in Auckland ready to transfer to LAN Chile flight to Santiago only to find that the it had been cancelled due to mechanical problems with the aircraft. Should we be worried??? Tranferred to a very pleasant hotel close to CBD to stay overnight, expecting to leave late this afternoon. Highlight of the day -- a walk in the rain to Auckland Harbour. Fingers crossed our next up date will be when we're in Santiago, Chile.

or should we say flying against all odds? At the least you've a brief sojorn in Auckland and can hit the ground running in San Diego. Is that an appropriate phrase?
