Me bungeeing
Scariest moment of the day! Today I went bungee jumping. I know I can't just put it out there, I have to build it up, build up the tense, so here I go.
This morning I woke up around 1pm. I had a massive sleep in, but I think I needed it. I honestly had no idea what I was going to do with my day. I thought I had done everything I wanted to do. Then I remembered, Auckland has the largest tower in the southern hemisphere. I quickly got dressed, ran down to the coffee shop across the road, grabbed myself a latte to go and paid for a cab to take me to the Sky Tower. It was a beautiful day, the sky was a clear, crisp blue and the air was the perfect temperature.
My cab arrived and took me to the heart of Auckland City, it didn't take long, maybe 5 minutes, but i'm glad I got to see all the other buildings. I could hardly sit still. I got out the cab and walked to the lobby next to the sky tower. I paid to get in and also to do the Sky Jump. The lady at reception
The Restaurant
The revolving restaurant with an amazing buffet pointed me in the direction to an elevator. The elevator ride seems to take forever and once we got up high enough the walls of the elevator were see through and you could see the whole city as you went up the sky tower.
Most people in the elevator got off at the main level but the receptionist told me to go 9 stories higher. As soon as the elevator opened, there was a desk with a man in a blue jumpsuit standing behind it. He asked me if I was doing a jump and I told him that I was and he guided me to a room where I could change into a jumpsuit. After I got changed I walked out the room and he was waiting for me. He introduced himself, his name was Michael. Michael went through the safety rules with me and what to do incase of an emergency. Once everything was sorted I waited behind 3 other people who were also jumping. It took roughly 10 minutes to get all tide in and secure, then they dropped you. I heard the screams of the jumps victims before me. Then it was my turn. They
The Sky Tower
The sky tower and casino where I won all my MON-NAY! strapped me in while I was standing on the balcony, the wind was blowing hard and I started to freak out. Then once I was strapped in they pushed me over the edge so I was dangling over the ground.
My heart sank. It was the scariest thing I had ever done. The few seconds it took to get to the ground went so fast, I tried to open my eyes but all I could see was a blur. I had landed on a trampoline and a few men at the bottom helped me get down. Once I did get down, I kissed the ground and laughed. I shook the mens hands and went back to reception, past the elevator and up again to the same floor. I excused myself to the room where I got changed and went down to the main floor, 9 floors beneath me. I got out the elevator and walked around.. You could see absolutely everything, the ocean, the harbour bridge, the buildings, mountains in the far back, the motorway. Everything! They had binoculars, so I took a look around, I saw birds feeding on fish in the ocean but nothing more interesting than that.
Infront of the binoculars they had glass floor. Really thick glass so you could see straight down to the floor. It was terrifying. The whole room went around in a circle. By now it was 4:30 so i decieded to have an early dinner since I had not eaten all day except for the coffee this morning.
I went to the elevator, 4 more floors down to the resturant. The restuarant was a buffet, and it revolved around, so you got to see everything around you while sitting in your seat! For dinner I paid $45 and had pumpkin soup, a beef wellington, roast vegetables, and salad. For dessert I had chocolate mousse, and strawberry wine jelly. It was incredibly delicious. After dinner, I had a bit more of a wander around the Sky Tower, I found out they had a casino right down stairs and decieded to check it out, maybe play a few games.
Once I got down there, I put $20 into $2 coins and started on the pokey machines. After 15 minutes I was down to my last 3 $2. You had to get 3 in a row to win 1.5 million dollars. I was hoping so much I would win. I put another $2 in and pulled the lever. Not even close. Another 2 dollars. 1 picture, the next picture matched, so did the next. All sirens went off and my heart stopped. This was easily the best day of my life. I had won 1.5 million dollars! And had another $2!
After another hour of blowing my money on casion games I won another $15. I then called a limo home and drank champagne on the way home. I tipped the driver and soon made my way to bed and fell asleep with a smile on my face!
