WysteriaThe Wysteria is a trifle overgrown
I haven't been on the blog for a while, winter is here and so things have slowed down a little.
We have been quite busy in the garden trimming and cutting down some of the greenery. The Wisteria at the front door has had a huge prune. It is thirty years old and was looking a little tired with branches dying and the borer was in some of the branches so the dust was dreadful. The dust kept coming in through the kitchen windows in the easterly winds, causing hayfever for the occupants of the house.
So down it all came much to the distress of the neighbours and friends who thought it looked so beautiful in Springtime.
All this gardening is very good for Graham's muscles and general health!!!!!
The big event for this weekend was to get the Triumph Spitfire back into life.
A new battery was purchased and installed and bingo the car chugged into life. Whew were we ever pleased. It was driven around the block without a warrant of fitness or registration. Not a good look. The next thing on the agenda is a warrant and then the car will be registered and driven
around on fine days.
After a good clean I must say it looked very smart, then it was all wrapped up like a parcel again.
We had Candace and Kathryn over for dinner on Sunday night. As usual we had a lovely time with these two delightful young women.
Graham had spent all afternoon trying to get his new wireless computer to work without success. He told his story of woe to the girls and Candace had one bright idea, which Kathryn agreed with. So Kathryn helped Graham sort it all out and now it now goes beautifully.
The best thing is Graham now understands what to do etc.
What would us oldies do without these bright young things to help us in this technological world.
Graham had purchased a cheap bottle of plonk from the supermarket, and offered the girls a glass of the wine. I noticed one glass was enough for them, they declined a second. When I said to Graham that it can't have been very nice wine, his comment was, that's good I have some left over!!! can you believe it.
The girls duly went home with their 'doggy bags' of food, minus wine!!!!
That is it for now, the sun is shining outside, so I must go and get some Vitamin D.
New batteryLet's hope this is the cure to all problems.
