Happy New Year everybody!!!!
Hope everybody had a lovely festive season and enjoyed ringing in the new year with a touch of sparkle. Christmas in the tropics is always interesting, hot weather, possibility of Santa bringing a better tan and the hope that possibly you'll get sunscreen in your stocking. Unfortunately none of thsoe thigs happened for me this year, Raro is definitivly caught in its own rainy season and not a ton o'sun have we seen lately. But Christmas was still grand with lots of eating, drinking and being merry. Back at work now at PIAF. Have only 14 days left of work before I'm done with my internshipn and it's time for me to head to New Zealand for the second leg of my pacific love affair. I'll have about 3 weeks to travel the south island before heading to uni in Hamilton at the University of Waikato where I'll be taking classes in the school of Maori and Pacific Development. Don't ask me what classes, because I don't know. Good news? my new passport has been reissued and it's on it's way. oh yeah, I lost my passport the second I went through customs after returning from
the Solomons. a touch stressful, especially with this upcoming leaving the country and all. Anyways, not a ton new here, Jeremy is here hanging out for a week. Wer got some beach laying time this weekend, hit up snorkelling yesterday and a dip in the waterfall. Have cruised the island a fair bit on the motorbike, and generally chillaxed. We're heading to an island night tonight, fingers crossed there are no more public displays of dancing forced upon me. Sal and I are getting kicked out of our house next weekend, the owners are coming back for Australia, meaning they want their house back I guess. So we'll be homeless for about a week and a half before I leave. May be back living at the office, we really don't know. As for the cats, another thing we really don't know. So far nobody is leaping at the chance to take two mischevious kittens off of our hands, might have to pay someone to. Or, just leave the cats in the house and they can welcome the owners home! interesting idea.... anyways, for your enjoyment I have put up, finally, some of the pictures from the Solomons. If context is
needed, there is an actual blog or two about the trip, so just flip back a bit!
Hope all is well across the water,
love
Emily
Back to Realitymy home in Honiara, room 31 at the Quality Inn. Unofrtuantely in this picture you can not smell the cigarette smoke, feel the lack of water, or hear the constant yabbering of teenagers below the wind

Those cats are the cutests things ever! That sucks about the passport too 1 - because of the stress & 2 - because of the stamps.
Honey I miss you.
And I still have the god damn care package in the back of my car.
you should just pack them in your suitcase, damn they're cute!
happy new year my sweet, I hope 2008 brings you joy and love and lots of diving.
also, picturing you and Jeremy on Phillie gives me great joy... what a great mental pic of him on the back all gangly and awkward... I mean... I love you Jerbear!
