we got up early and got into cairns to catch the 8.30 scenic railway up the mountain to kuranda. a very scary 1.45 hour journey that seems to go straight up the mountain, the views were spectacular all the way up and kuranda was very nice as well we had a couple hours, obviously a bit of lunch and then got the skyrail back down, this is bacically a small cable car that skims ver the tips of the rain forest all the way back down, it took 45 minutes and was equally as scary as the train up.
we got back and had a couple of hours on the beach before going to palm cove for dinner, about a half hour drive away and very upmarket
