Great Ocean Road

It was a bit windy and rainy, but still stunning
OK, so again I've been very bad at keeping my blog up to date but I've been moving about so much it's difficult to find the time so I am m0oving into sumary mode if only to get into the next continent!. Anyhow.
After I left Nelly and Paul in Melbourne I booked a two day tour of the Great Ocean Road which would drop me off in Adelaide. I think it would be better to generally have another day to see the Great Ocean Road but I was anxious to get to Adelaide to see Elaine as she had to leave on a work conference that week too. I booked with the Wildlife company which meant the first day we covered pretty much all of the Great Ocean Road (it was a long day) and then stayed overnight in Halls Gap which is a National Park and incredibly beautiful. We had pretty bad weather on the trip along the Great Ocean Road as it was drizzly and very cloudy which was a shame but it was still stunning. We saw the 12 Apostles which were pretty cool, and the surfers were out even in the rain on Bells beach.
We had a really long day in the rather rickety bus listening to pretty much the MGMT album on loop but it was a good group of people and lots of fun when we eventually had a BBQ for dinner about 11pm.
Arriving in Adelaide, Dougie pickd me up from the bus station and it was off to visit the Parr family. Had a fabulous time staying with them / Elaine and I caught up over many bottles of fine Aussie wine and we made the 10 min walk to the beach most evenings from their house to watch the sunset. Winery tour, sunset cruise, kangeroos, long leisurely lunches, dinner at the Surf club ( I did feel like I was in an Aussie soap!) swimming in the sea with the kids, cocktails and karaoke / I had a ball!! So lovely to catch up with Elaine, Dougie, Callum, Aideen and Iona, will also remember my fantastic time spent with them.
After Adelaide it was off to Sydney where I meet the lovely Fabien, danced some salsa, climbed the Harbour Bridge, sailed past the Opera House on the ferry to Manley, bought too much stuff at the market in Glebe and mooched around a lot. I am obviously being very brief now, but I really must leave Australia in my blog before I actually head home!
