Well i left at 6:30am and Rich had put my bag on the sofa ready for me to put it on my back. The taxi man was strong he was so little but managed to lift up my bag so i could put it on my back, how cool. I got on the coach and had a 2 1/2 hour journey to Newcastle. When i got there i asked two girls if they were going to Port Stevens and they were, and the only ones so that was good luck! They were staying at the same place Elaine and Edel stayed at so i called up there and then and booked a bed.
It is lovely there, they have a pet kangaroo, 2dogs, one puppy and abird that lands on your shoulder.
Its a gorgeous set up, your in like log cabbins, really nice. There is a full size fridge in our room too!
The local shops are 3k walk there and 3k back! There are push bikes we can use but there wasnt enough today so we walked, in the pooring rain too!
Wednessday 1st April - Sunday 5th April 2009
I havn't got much time on the computer so here goes!
It rained for 2days day and night!! There were puddles everywhere i had to walk through ankle height ones to get to anywhere in the hostel as all the rooms are separate buildings.
I went sand boarding down the dunes, it was amazing! They are the largest moving sand dunes in Australia, they move 1meter in land every year. When we got to the top it didn't look that steep but when we went down on these wooden boards we soon picked up some speed! It was the best fun ever! Although walking back up was a killer! It was so steep! He then took us to a tin village in the middle of nowhere in these sand dunes where ex war veterans lived to get away from everything, but they have loads of visitors because of where they are.
I was with some wicked lads that day who went too - Darren, Jack, Callum and James were travelling together and Wayne was on his own. Me and the boys went surfing the next day and it was anoying because they could all stand up and i only stood up once, but at least i did!
They had the boards for a whole day but when we were all showered we didnt want to go back out. I went to the shops and got more food and the boys did go out again eventually.
The next day the boys went surfing and me and Wayne walked to the top of a small moutain and it looked out on all the bays, it was a gorgious view, amazing! But i nearly died on the way up, it was a killer walk!
Today is my last day here, so catching up on this as i have to get a bus to get on a computer and internet. then i will be catching my coach to Byron Bay at 9:50 tonight with Wayne, saves on a nights accomodation, but 11 hours ona coach mmmmmmm not so nice. The busses out here are more comfortable than the coach!
So i have had a wicked time here and probably guna meet up with the boys in Byron Bay, can't wait! It reminds me a lot of cornwall here, its so peaceful and countryfied, i love it!!! But not much else to do now so time to move on.
Ahh i missed out a day, i did hourse riding for an hour round the bush, and rode on Luke who was a very greedy hourse and wanted to eat all the way, their necks are so strong! i found it hard to pull on the rains to get him to pull back up! That was really good and i made friends with the owners collie dog who was so cute!!!
