60 something hours after leaving home in Montreal I find myself in Sydney in one piece, with all my luggage and my sanity in tact and relatively well rested since I'm fortunate enough to be able to fall asleep anywhere ... my 10 hour flight from Honalulu was no exception :-)
In transit, while freaking, I was trying to give my friend Annie as much info as to when I was going to land as possible seeing as she was going to meet me at the airport and we were then going to fly together to Melbourne Australia where she was currently living. I was only a day or so late so our plans to connect, connected. I hadn't seen her in quite a while ... 6 months or so? So we missed eachother a lot and couldn't wait to see eachother again and quite frankly I couldnt' believe it. Meeting on the other side of the world was beyond me. I told her to have a poster ready with my name on it so I could see her instantly and she did. Not for long cuz she dropped it as she ran up to me
and almost tackled me right then and there. My passport, money belt, tickets and anything else I had in my hands or on me flew from me and scattered all over from the impact! We laughed, the crowd we had gathered laughed and it was the most awesome greeting I ever experienced!!
I had enough responsability just getting myself there so I handed the rest over to her. She's the experienced traveller anyway. She got the cheapest and quickest tickets she could find us and off we went to Melbourne. The flight was uneventful and we both slept. Something about transit puts me to sleep instantly whether I'm on a bus, in a boat, on a plane .... hopefully not on the back of a bike cuz that would be brutal.

I had met a girl online who just happened to live in Melbourne and we got to chatting before I left for Oz and so Annie and I met up with her to hang around town like a local. We walked a lot and snapped a lot of pictures too. Melbourne has very odd architecture. Crazy psychedelic colours like tinker clothes but stunning
in a good way at the same time along with oddly shapped buildings ... even a sunken library in the middle of the sidewalk. All that was left of that was the tip of the sign.
Melbourne4Tinker colour buildings and funky shapes!
