We leave early for the RainForest Habitat Center in Port Douglas to have "breakfast with the birds". It is a large aviary with a buffet breakfast and birds flying all around us, landing on table and on the people. Very much fun. Then after the meal is finished we are taken on a guided walk through the Rainforest and Wetlands Aviaries; dry land animals such as the koala, kangaroo, casowary. We got to pet the Koala bear and feed the kangaroos. We also saw salt water and fresh water crocodiles. Our field trip then continued back in Cains at Tjapukai-- North Queensland Costal Aboriginals--with talks on their social organization and culture. We are served lunch there and continue with demonstrations on didgeridoo playing, spear throwing, and boomerang tossing. We all had a chance to try our hand at it if we wished. It is hot at the end of the day. We return the hotel, have dinner.

Hi Martha and John....love your blogs and the mad pace of your cultural tour. I get them six at a time.....The weather is very cold right now and we are grateful it's sunny today. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving... we did too and Dan now has an old truck to drive with his new license to the Carptenter's Union. I miss having mom around but am adjusting to no caregiving and my friends have been very supportive. Hope Marty is keeping her health intact and able to enjoy all the incredible stuff you are seeing.....Sincerely, Shirley
