Time for us to write another blog, this time a festive one. The new year is here now, and we had a very eventful christmas. We have been busy working away all over the christmas period so its been a quite one for us with a few eventualities. We've celebrated going away parties, christmas & new years parties and, well, random nights out since our last update. (See, we've been busy working!!!)
Our staff christmas party/bbq was a great night of drinking and eating. We sauntered down to our bosses house at about 7pm (Yep, i said suantered), and the festivities began. It was a great night where santa arrived on his bmx to give gifts to us all, we played games, had a spread of food that would feed an army n enough beer to keep all our mates happy for about a month. (Still drinking it these days). Work was fun the next day!!!!
Our christmas day was spent down by a nearby lake, lake Towerinning, well, nearby for australia meant a hours drive. We spent the entire day in the beautiful Aussi weather, drinking, eating cold salad and trying out new water sports on the back
of a jet-ski. (A typical christmas..... i felt like i was back in Ireland.) All was going well until late afternoon, when ste, who by now was addictive to tubbing and going as fast as he could had a bit of an accident. His tube coming into the shore hit a patch of smooth water which meant that instead of coming to a slow stop he kept going. This would have been fine only there was a boat in his way... and ste went straight into the back of it! Luckily he didn't fare to bad initially. A small cut under his right eye and he walked away. A few days later after a trip to the hospital we found out that he had fractured two bones in his cheek, there was also some nerve damage and a little internal bleeding. Nothing that wont heel in time. So all considering he was lucky with the small injuries that he had. (Yeah, but ya wanna see the boat!!) The evening was spent with a typical Aussi sunset and an open bbq fire.
New Years Eve was spent drinking and drinking and drinking at one of our mates houses. We arrived
there after work at about 10, so there was no time to waste. We celbrated new years 8 hours earlier that at home so were calling home a bit 'tipsy' at 2 in the afternoon. How the night ended up..... well, ur guess is as good as mine. Happy days!!!
Now, on a brief note, here are a list of small events that have happened while we have been here, but probably dont warrent a full paragraph...... 1) Went to a speedway night of suuped up cars racing. 2) Since then have driven our bosses speedway car around an empty lot (It was awesome). 3) Was handed in a baby chick over the counter on New Years Eve (How random - but he came to the house party with us). 4) Have visited Fremantle & perth again.
