Today wa so much fun we rose early and headed towards the habour to jump on the ferry over to Rottness Island. Wecaught the 8:30am ferry and arrived around 45mins latter, the sea was calm which made the trip very enjoyable.
We headed over to the bike hire shop as quick as our hung over legs could take us, as we were on a mission to get the best tandom bikes they had. Jay and I were first thank good as we got the bike with the 30 gears and Brad & Julie got the bike out of the goonies movie, so funny thier legs were moving so fast but the bike was slowly cruising along. Rottness is well known for being quite hilly, so we needed the rest to catch our breaths. Me being put on the back first, found it very funny trusting my whole life to someone elses hands. It is really hard to 1 stopp laughing then 2 keep your balance, but after a while being on the back is good as you can stop peddleing without being coaught.
We raced off into the wind and first stopped at Little Salmon Bay, here we put
on our snorkels and took of our clothes and in for our first dip of the day, and boy did I need it already. It was a long swim out before you really saw any action on the fish front although the coral was pretty. we did not stay out to long as we had the whole island to get around before the ferry left without us.
Back on the bike again and feeling pretty good after the swim, we headed off to check out a few of the hot spots. Cycling to the far end of the Island Cape Vlamingh, we stopped to catch our breath and to let the slow farts catch up, by this point I was so plaese that we had got to the geared bike first. Me & Jay had a go on the goonies bike but found it very difficult to peddle as we were nearly wetting ourselfs with laughter.
By now it is luch time and the sun is hot as are we. The hills feel much steaper on this side of the Island. we stopped for a while at Catherine Bay which was awesome, we were the only ones thier
felt like we owned the beach so nice. dipping a few time but mainly restoring our energy for the last leg of our journe.
back on we jumped, cycling very slow but sleady this time, as you can imagine by now yes our arses were feeling it. We arrive at The Basin our last dipping stop of the day of course I was straight in thier, hot work all this exercise. The snorkaling was so much better here, their was swim ways through the rocks if you could hold your breath long enough to get through, Jay & Brad could do it but I stood no chance. lots of big colourfull fish huding from us lot trying to get a glance.
Then onbaord we jumped for the last time thank god as my arse is killing, and yes off to the pub for the last 2 hours what a great ending to a great day.
