This is the view from Kings park.
We arrived in Perth to be picked up by the brother (Tieag) of one of Jason's friends. Yet again we were subject to fantastic Australian/Irish/Singaporean hospitality. You could quite easily say that Perth is one of the best places to bring up a family it has such a lovely vibe about it. However it is so isolated as It is a 4-5hr flight from Australia's east coast (but this is probably why Perth is so lovely). We tried (or rather I tried) dim-sum in Perth with Tieags family and celebrated St Patricks day as Tieag is Irish. We rented a car and headed south to a place called Bunbury. This is another lovely 'ideal to live' place. The bay in Bunbury is famous for it s resident dolphins who come up to the beach every morning to check out visitors hence they have built a Dolphin conservation centre. Although you can watch but not touch its a pretty good experience. We moved on further south to Busselton. This has lovely beaches with crystal clear waters and one of the longest jetty's in the world (it took 25mins to walk to the end). At the end they have an underwater observatory which

This is a good place for snorkeling. But unfortunately it is also an ideal place for loads of school kids to lean to swim
is excellent. You really get to see quite a bit of marine life and the colours of the corals. We saw some impressive fish as well as an octopus down there. Margret river was the next stop. This is a wine region and is where the locals come to relax. We visited yet another cave here and I spotted an Emu by the roadside. We headed even further south to the most south western point of Australia (Augusta) which is where the Indian and Southern oceans meet. We made out way back up to Bunbury where we had arranged to 'Swim with the Dolphins'. This basically involves getting kitted up and hanging around in the sea snorkeling near a pod of dolphins in the hope they take interest in you. This did happen once and it was really special having a dolphin swim right underneath you. But the really great experience is watching 5 of them riding the bow wave of the boat.
