So it begins...

Well it's only a few days now before I head off on my 14 month adventure. The last few days have been pretty busy getting all of those last minute things done but I think I'm pretty much ready now. I thought that I would add an entry now firstly just to make sure I know how it all works and secondly to let you all know what I have planned for the next year or so.

Well for the first part of my trip I'll be flying out on the 6th of Jan to Bangkok, Thailand, to meet up with Michael (my brother) and Glenn (a good mate). I think we'll spend a few days in Bangkok having a look around and getting a few things before we head north to the Chiang Mai region. This region is known for its amazing hiking trails and we'll hopefully do some white water rafting as well. After that we'll head south-east to the coast and go to the island of Ko Chang. This island is mostly national park and is meant to be one of the most beautiful areas in South East Asia. We'll spend a few days there snorkelling, hiking and island hopping. Then it'll be back to Bangkok where I'll leave Michael and Glenn and fly to London. (Michael will be going to India for 4 months to do work experience for his Engineering Degree and Glenn will be returning home to Australia.)

In London I'll be catching up with Faraaz. I'm not too sure what Faraaz has planned but he did mention camping in Wales so I'm sure whatever it is it'll be interesting... :P

Finally I will be arriving in Vienna, Austria, on the 12th of Feb. I start a preparatory cultural program and German course on the 13th Feb that runs for 2 weeks so it'll be straight into it. I don't actually start Uni until the 6th of March though so I'll have some time to adjust to the weather and get to know Vienna a bit. I will be staying in Vienna for a year, continuing my Commerce Degree at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

I also have plans to meet up with Justin half way through the year and do some travelling around Europe. We both have tickets to some of the World Cup games in Germany so we'll start our trip there. Then if all goes as planned we'll go to Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and Tunisia.

So yeah that's a rough outline of what I have planned for the next year. Whether or not it will all go to plan, only time will tell... :P

ps. Over the last few weeks I've been experimenting with my new camera trying to get familiar with all the settings. The photos in this entry are just a selection of some of those shots.
