Ok well Friday was my last day of work at Centrelink ever!!! Yippee!! Kinda scary, very exciting and absolutely happy about the decision! Gonna miss the guys I work with heaps tho' but am sure we can keep in touch and all that. Going away pressies were very much in keeping with the fact that I am about to travel around the world! They got me: Wilderness wash; Hand sanitiser; Toilet seat covers; a gift voucher for mountain design (will definately be coming in handy - thinking of getting one of those wire mesh covers for my backpack which are great for when travelling on overnight trains and buses and stuff); and ... a book called Toilets Of the World ... i cracked up - so hilarious For my last day, I worked really hard, ... read more

Touchdown! Left SA on the 1st June 07 at 22:45 and touched down in Perth at 13:30. The flight was fine, though it was delayed, I took Rogers advice and slept as soon as I got on the plane. Pulled on the bright orange eye patches, said goodnight to Johnny - a really good chap. He had just been back to SA to see his Dad who lives on a farm in Lydenberg. He said his head had not been in the right space, about staying in Auz before the trip out, but his head was perfect after the visit he just wished his Dad would join him. “die plek is in n kak toestand” he said referring to SA. He is a boilermaker and working on one of the mines north of Perth. He ... read more

Unglaublich...

Meisterfeier

Catch ya...... read more

Well I am down to my last few hours in Australia! I can’t believe it has been six months already. Crazy! I planned on staying in Australia for a year but I decided not to work while I was here so my Australian money has run out. Guess that means time to move on to my next big adventure. I have spent the last two weeks here in Perth. It has been very relaxing. Perth is pretty chilled out. There is not much to do in the City itself but if you have some wheels there are heaps of things to do around. Basically, I have been chilling out, hanging with Maike, Aimee (who I was staying with), her boyfriend Craig, and Bee. I had met Aimee and Bee in Canada and they had stayed ... read more

Well at leat I've caught up to the right country, still not the right territory but nearly. Saw quite a bit of Perth and then headed up the coast to Coral Bay to dive on the Ningaloo reef, it was fantastic, then back to Perth. We met up with my dad's cousin who is really nice, he took us out for dinner and drinks and brought the parcel with my camera in! We went to the mint and engraved each other a coin, solid silver, decided solid gold was a bit ott! but the amazing thing is although I know we must be annoying each other at times, (I definitely get annoyed by little things about Vic) we haven't argued or fallen out majorly in the 5-6 weeks we've now been away!! I'm amazed. It is ... read more

Well I am now unemployed! WOW Yesterday was my last day at Mallesons and the culmination of what was dubbed the 'festival of pete' by Kelly. I definitely think I received my fair share of attention what with all the leaving lunches, drinks, afternoon tea, breakfasts etc etc! Thanks again to all my friends for making my last week at work so pleasurable, it was tough saying goodbye to my home of the past 7 years - as my blubbering proved :-) Oh and thanks to everyone who contributed to my leaving gift, my little ipod nano is going to get heaps of use during my travels. Now with work out of the way, my unit rented out and time running out its a mad rush to pack up my unit, get the last few ... read more

Decided to catch a train to the city of perth, found out about this lovely place called kings park, had a bit of a hike finding it, although there is transport to take you up there ( i was worried about money at the time) massive place where you get to view perth central as a whole. It also has a botanical garden there, ( i must have a thing for gardens, my age possibly.) A place where you could possibly spend half a day easy. Best part of perth i thought. ... read more
