Last days in Lancelin

19th January

A bad nights sleep as I suffer mild food poisoning.

Work 08h30-17h15; first day working with Richard. Kim put me in charge and we clean a garage and a garden. I tell Julie I want to leave Monday and she wants me to consider alternatives. She even offers to put me up in one of the holiday homes.

Pancakes for dinner made from free food. I share with Roy and Shanon. Say good buy to Frenchy and Ute. Get asked for money from Josephine. Watch a film an try for an early night.



20th January

Work 08h00-14h30 cleaned a car, trimmed a tree and filled some gas bottles. Out at sea the sky was a beautiful blue. Inland dark with streaks of lightening. and we were stuck in the hot stretch between Julie gives us a tub of Sarah Lee Extra chocolate ice cream.

Kim drops off a box food at the lodge and I get first dibs. I fix Karen's laptop for some bottles of home brew. Trish offers me a lift to Perth Sunday for helping out. A few drinks at the lodge and then out to show Richard the bars in town. Hand in my shirt to the Tavern.



21st January

No work today but I still set an alarm as Richard is cooking pancakes. Snorkelling with Yuri, Richard, Roy and Laura - I see an Manta Ray and burn the top of my head. Stop in at the office to let Julie know I have a lift out of town Sunday. Pack my bag.

Toad in the hole for dinner. Finnish off my Gin. Head to the Tavern to be social; between the staff and people from the hostel I don't have to pay for a drink. Back at the hostel Paul offers to drive me from Perth to Adelaide next Wednesday if I'll split the cost of fuel with him.
