From Melbourne Airport we took the Skybus to Southern Cross Station. We had super views of the Melbourne City Business District.
We met our friends Chris and Martyn who we had not seen for around 30 years. It was great to catch up with lost time and stay with them in their apartment. We visited St Kilda and Brighton where we walked on the beach as the sun set. There were many brightly painted beach huts which we heard can be sold for enormous prices.
The following day we enjoyed several hours in the Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed the tram rides and the vibrant city streets. We had an excellent meal in a Thai restaurant. Chris and Martyn gave us some excellent advice for our forthcoming visit to New Zealand. We hope it will not be as long before we meet again.
