Arrived last night and got seriously pampered by my cousin who met me at the airport... and got to hear about her recent trip to Malyasia. She seems to have become the Queen of Barter, well, at least according to the stories I heard.

I walked up to Toorak Road and on the way passed the Country Woman's Association club house - you should see it, it's huge! (I've no idea what the inside looks like, I only saw it from the outside, but ... Nice! It's a long way off being a 'country cottage'... it's more a sprawing mansion or homestead.)

I pretty much just poked in shops, walked, looked and thought and walked some more and ended up down Chapel Street, somewhere past the Jam Factory but probably still in South Yarra and not quite in Prahran. Had I had unlimited funds I think I could have found a really cool (not to mention appropriate) gift for almost everyone I know. I got a few folks stuff from a funky little store called 'Wild Monkey' - including a camouflage t-shirt with the text 'combat girl' for my middle sister... she's going through a phase.

I don't really have any major headlines... except the fact that I'm actually having a holiday which is a novelty in my recent history. I recommend Toorak Road and Chapel Streets for a meandering pleasant place walk, window shopping and place to relax and think.

It's just been created so I've so far only included a short wee trip to Melbourne just to test the blog and see how it all works... but I will add further (and hopefully more interesting) accounts when I next travel. I intend to use this space to provide updates on everything from short holidays, trips interstate and trips overseas. For those wanting such updates, feel free to sign up and you'll get an email whenever I post something. For friends/fami... full info
