Arriving off the plane we realised we were still and hour outside of Melboure so we boarded a shuttle and headed for the Central Business District. Guess what it was raining!!

We managed to navigate the tram's to the hostel although we had to ask as the tickets are sold in 7eleven shops and the stops are int he middle of the road. On the way to the hostel Emily somehow managed to get lost and when I found her again she informed me she didn't like Melbourne and was leaving in two days. I decided to go and explore before making any desisions, Emily didn't feel like coming so I headed out alone.

Melboure had a warm cultral feeling even with the rain and I liked it, I dropped in to the YHA to pick up a loanly planet guide for Australia and got talking to one of the travel reps. She booked me on to a vineyard tour the next day and The Great Ocean Road the day after, she must have taken a liking to me as

This is the guy who took the tour and has now made me a wine conesure
she gave me internet discount prices for both trips. She also looked up flights to Byron Bay for me then told me to book them myself as she would have to charge me 15% booking fee, the only flights are Saturday nights and although I would have liked to have spent longer in Melboune I didn't want to spend another week in the cold.

When I got back to the hostel I asked Emily if she wanted to come to Byron Bay, she didn't so I found an internet cafe and just booked myself a flight.

Thursday saw another early start as I had to meet the bus for the Vineyard tour at 9.30am. The trip took me to The Yarra Valley and four Vineyards where I learned how to taste wine, what corked really means, and lot's more, I really enjoyed this trip and after drinking all day felt just a little drunk.

I met with Emily, we went for a Chinese in China Town and another bottle of wine where I was able to try out my new learned skills.

Friday I woke at 7am, said my goodbyes to Emily and headed to The

Great Ocean Road. The day was very long (I got back at 10pm) and there was alot of time spent on the bus, but the stop's made it a good tour, firstly we went to Bell's Beach the surfing capital of Australia we were informed but today there was no waves which is really rare (lucky me again!). Next stop was Lunch where I tried shark, then on to a wild Kolaras, I also got to hold and feed a wile parrot which as I am scared of birds was and acheivement. We then walked through the rainforest (I am starting to get bored with rainforest now although I do want to go in a tropical rain forest when I reach Cape Tribulation). Then on to 12 Apostels which are rock formations in the sea where the rock has eroded them away for from the shore. I went on a helicopter here, this was weird, I thought I would be sick as I am not the best traveller but is actually is really smooth and you feel like you are floating. Last stop before dinner was London Bridge which is aonther rock formation in the sea with an amusing story

attached, briefly it was falling down and everyone was shouting london bridge is falling down, two people didn't run back to shore as they thought it was a joke and ended up on the rock out at sea, the press turned up before the rescue team, the couple however became camera shy tried to hide there faces, later the press revealed this was because the man was having a romantic weekend with his wifes best friend!!

Saturday I checked out of the hostel left my bag in storage and walked around the city, up to Victoria Market and down to federation square, I sat watching a street performer for an hour then got a call to say my flight to Byron Bay was delayed due to the fog, so I decided to kill a few hours typing up Sydney and Melbourne.
