Arrived in Melbourne after 20 hours in the air. The last time I was that high for that long was in 1975! Anyway, Melbourne is a fantastic city with a lot of life and character. Great cafes, restaurants, shops. They have an excellent transit system - you can get almost anywhere reasonably quickly on trains and trams via an intricate network of multi-directional routes- unlike Toronto- which gives tourists a great opportunity to visit the multitude of various neighbourhoods. Also met some really wonderful people, made some new friends, and hooked up with some relatives that I haven't seen in over 40 years. Have a look at some of the photos. yes, I know where you have been - didn't know about the wc rennovation - how ya goin'? others likely don't understand that reference :) Hope you are time adjusted and enjoying oz as much as we did - lots of walking to do in Melbourne - loved the pics - can't wait to see tazmania - and don't forget Kangaroo Island - need to see lots from there! write when you can - just nice to know that you are there and having fun! xo
