The Trip

This is the route that we have taken so far

The eternal flame that has been lit since the war- also good for warming up on, in cold Melbourne
Since arriving in Melbourne we have done pretty much no tourist stuff and not much sightseeing. True that this is mainly because we have been working most of the time and/or drinking and knocking about with other people that we've met. So we decided to have a day of pure tourist action... we whipped our cameras out and set of snapping pretty much everything that we could find. I have tried to put a few of the photos on.
Over the last couple of months we have been working quite a lot and saved up enough to get us to New Zealand in a few weeks. Work is ridiculously easy and I wouldn't really call it working- usually go out for a couple of drinks with the peeps from there afterwards.
Sometimes on Sundays we go bowling because at the bowling alley next to where I work, it is free to bowl if you buy a drink. This gives us something to do and keeps us out of trouble; we usually get quite a big crowd together and its a good laugh.
The other day, about 10 of us took some sheets from the hostel and caught a tram across town

We spent the day there - because for a change it was reasonably warm and so we had to make the most of it. unfortunately the sheets got a bit dirty so we thought they might as well be binned.
As you may have guessed, Melbourne is the coldest place I have been for ages, just like England in the Winter although it doesn't really rain that often. It will be nice to move north again to get some sun again! Because it is cold, especially at night, and we're not supposed to drink our own booze in the hostel, we usually go up on the roof and take loads of duvets up to keep warm- it has become quite a tradition and loads of people end up up there.
Anyway on our tourist day we ended up going to an exhibition about the human body that

I have always wanted to go to (no seriously). It
3 Degrees
Outside the place that I work called 3 Degrees- because it is a bar, brasserie and brewery... although the brewery doesn't work!is where they have real dead people and have pumped plastics through their arteries and muscles to preserve them so that you can see what bodies look like inside. Most of the people had there skin removed so you could see the muscles and organs and everything. There were even some faces left on. The most interesting/sickest ones were:-

A mans head that was sliced into four pieces- the first was his face and then the rest were though the head to see his brain

Embryos of babies at every week from 2 weeks - 9 months. It was really interesting to see how they develop over time. Me & Tim decided it could be called a proper baby at about 18 weeks

The best was a man who was stood with his arm out and his whole skin had been peeled of and he was holding it. It still had all the hair and tatoos on it- pretty sick actually.

Ooh who is this handsome bar tender... Pint?- yes please I'll have four!

The worst thing about the show was that you couldn't take photos, I was very very tempted to take one of the skin man but they said they would confiscate the memory card- bastards!
Anyways,

It is in the middle of a park and you've gotta pay to get in. We were going to until we asked some English people who told us that it was built in England and move there 50 years ago and he might not have even lived there!
