Sun 12 Feb
------------
Off to a place called Foster, a small campsite about 180km from Melbourne. On the way we found a Sunday Market (a car boot sale to you and me). Just to make us feel at home it rained on us while we were there. Had a lovely afternoon in the sun, drinking wine and talking to some of Aussies. They are so friendly.

Iain started the day well by breaking a front tooth. Fortunately we had seen a dental surgery in the town so that was our first port of call. An hour later and $135 lighter it was fixed. It was actually a veneer that broke off but Iain kept it and the dentist was able to re-cement it. Should be able to claim it back on BUPA too!
Next stop is Lakes Entrance. It rained nin every town we passed through but when we arrived it was absolutely beautiful. The area itself is a joy to see, absolutely lovely. Sadly we couldn't get on a cruise as they didn't operate on Mondays - just our luck - we are only here 1 night. We are now in the SE corner of Victoria, heading towards Sydney.
Thanks to Stephen & Enid for recommendation of RSL clubs. We had the most delicious meal at the Lakes Entrance RSL Bowling Club which is situated next to our campsite. Barramundi for Sylvia and steak for Iain. Wow, what a feast!
These campsites all have similar rules, "no noise after 10pm" so everyone goes to bed early and gets up early. It's OK with us.
Gambling is a big thing over here, much more than at home. Lots of places have "Pokies" which are computerised poker games. Also fruit machines, dog racing and horse racing are big here. Has Colin heard of a horse called Black Caviar? It has apparently won 18 consecutive races here in Aus which is a record.
TV is absolute crap over here thoiugh. For example the best programme on last night was a black & white episode of On the Buses! So old!!
Sylvia has a big insect bite on her foot at the moment and it is very itchy and sore but isn't too much of a problem, just means a little less walking right now.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!
Bite on foot turned into a blister now and have got some antiseptic cream from the chemist. Bit difficult getting shoes on over it though. Drove 220km to Mallacoota. Lovely drive through forest , past lakes & rivers. Campsite is quite large and very full and we have a beautiful spot just across from the estuary. It really is another gorgeous place. Two more stops before Sydney now and returning the camper for a week. Free wifi here (that's a first) but the connection is incredibly slow so probably won't get many photos uploaded while we're here.
