Approaching
Staying at Kyneton Bushland Resort which is about 3kms out of the centre of Kyneton. That in itself is approx 45 minutes from Bendigo on the Calder Highway and about 90 mins from Melbourne.

The resort is set amonsgt the Australian bush with birds like Blue Wrens, Magpies, White Cockatoos, and Crows in abundance and they are accompanied by Kangaroos and and at night there is a chorus of frog and insect sounds.

Kyneton has some fabulous shopping and eating spots, especially in Piper St and Mollison St. It provides a good central base to visit goldfield towns like Maldon and Castlemaine and the cities of Ballarat and Bendigo, the latter being accessible by rapid train as well as driving.

Nearby there are hsitorical towns with very old buildings and many places of interest. Trentham Falls is one such surprise.

I am old and my wife is younger. We love visiting family and friends and visiting places of interest as well as having the odd steam train trip, or coach tour, perhaps a boat ride. Also like to watch a little sport where certain teams create a passion while others, we'll that alone. We see this as being a great way to keep in touch with our global family and global friends from Facebook. We hope that you will enjoy this latest trip to see family in the UK with a few sides trips tacked on.... full info
