When we got to the car rental depo little did we know that it was our lucky day! Not only was the relocation price from $25 a day dropped down to $1 a day, we also had our car upgraded to a Nissan Primera. After saying our goodbyes and thank yous to John and Sheila we packed up 'Priscilla' and set out on our 3 day Great Ocean Road trip.

The first day we drove from Adelaide to Mt Gambier. I was still in the Wicked van lifestyle and suggested we slept in the car to save on cost. It didn't help not being abled to find any campsites so we parked on a quite country road... NOT! It turned out to be the route for road trains transporting logs to a nearby depo every 30 mins! So we were blinded and shook up alnight! Oh yeah, it didn't help that Tony is 6 foot so it was bit of a squeeze... Won't be doing that again! After having slept a total of ... ummmm 2 hrs we hit the road.

So day two we reached Port Fairy (love the name..), the coast to where the Great Ocean Road starts from. We stopped at all the coastal viewing points which were absolutely beautiful. We were lucky it was a nice sunny day but just not warm enough to take a dip in the Southern Ocean! I got a brain freeze form just dipping my toe in!?! We then overnighted at Apollo Bay, sleepy town or what! There were no shops or restaurants open at 9 pm!!! Luckily the pub was open :) so crisps and peanuts for dinner it was!! Yummy!!

That's our first two days of our road trip for you. I had to split it as there was too many photos. We will meet again for part 2 of Mel and Tony's Great Ocean Road adventures..

What can I say, I am a Sagittarian that is is full of life and out to explore the world :) I am who I am today through my travels, the people that have crossed my path and with my families endless support. Hope you enjoy reading my adventures as much as I enjoy living them. Remember life is too short so get your backpack out and travel safe. xx What is a journey??? A journey is not a trip. It's not a vacation It's a process = A discovery = It's a process of self discovery A journey brings us face to face with ourselves A journey shows us not only the world but how we fit in.
