Falls Festival 2006 - Tunes, friends and mother nature!
We set off a few days before new years with the car fully stocked and Bella (the mental staffy) off visiting with Pinky the boxer at Sheps place. We arrived the night before the bands began to set up camp and chill out in the main arena (which overlooks the beaches around Marions bay) while some cool indie films were playing, Murderball being a standout! On the band bill were the Dandy Warhols, Ozomatli, Ash Grundwelt, Faker, The Cat Empire just to name a few.
The weather was glorious for the first 2 nights, only to break up new years eve which forced Poodle and Mitch into emergency assembly of a large pagola. We were instantly popular among the throngs of 15,000 people when the rain came finally down, with friends, and friends of friends seeking refuge.
Good times, a visit to the beaches, plenty of great food (Adam set a new record for Bratwurst consumption over 3 days - 11), the only disapointment was the 1hr wait for a coffee on day 3 to wash down breakie of oysters kilpatrick! YUM!!
The drive home included a visit
to the aquatic centre for a swim after a crawling 3hr drive of 40kms! A quick call in to the taste of Tasmania in Hobart was a perfect end to another enjoyable falls experience!
claire_n_ramoSoon to be newlyweds Ramo (puddleduck) & claire in from the rain...
lisa_n_klsKristie and Lisa Elph didn't let the rain dampen their 'spirits'
Spidey @ BeachAdam at the beach which was about 10mins walk from the campsite, it was bloody hot!
