The Land of Super Heroes

Not really a travel blog today - but I thought this was as good a place as any to share the images from Dan's 8th birthday party where we travelled to 'The Land of the Super Heroes'.

The players were Dan (aka Batman), Tallulah and Harper (aka Batgirl 2 and 1), Rebecca (aka Damsel), Anthony (aka Darth Vader), Alex (aka Batman), Jacob (aka Spiderman), Teagan (aka Shrek) and Joeseph (aka Super Baby).

Once the guys had made it through 'Super training', where they proved they were indeed faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and fly like a bird or a plane, they received their certificates, and moved onto full-scale rescuing.

The bear in peril was saved repeatedly by the Super- heroes, who braved the fiery bridge, stormed the spooky castle and overcame the dasterdly villain!

After this exhibition it was time for individual demonstrations of strength (pushing and lifting the car) and leaping over the pond.

A basket of cats were seized by a villianous assistant and hidden in various parts of the Land of the Superheroes. However, within minutes, all 33 kittys were safely returned, and the heroes were rewarded with chocolates for their efforts.

The trecherous villian, the Green Goblin also dared make an appearance in the Land of the Superheroes. The newly-qualified super heroes did not hesitate to use all their powers to reduce this wicked creature to his component parts.

The mother of Spiderman and Shrek had her impressive X-ray vision skills on display - winning the 'guess how many proton pills were in the jar' competition. Later, it was time for the Superheroes to disperse and return to their own lands. We hope you all had as much fun as we did. Thank you for your smiles, gifts and company and for making our celebration so memorable :-)
