Adelaide: The Australian Winnipeg

Lets be honest, the only reason Winnepeg exists is because early travelers who were moving from Vancouver to Toronto needed somewhere to pitch tent for the night. Welcome to Adelaide.

Adelaide is a city of around 1 million, located a lazy 700km drive east of Melbourne. Bastard drive, had the choice of the fast direct route, or Australia's premier coastal drive on the "great ocean road". Guess which one i picked. That's right, not a freakin thing to look at other than a ridiculously over-grown koala in some place that now escapes me! So Winnipeg will be home for a while...

Living in "Hove", a nice little spot in the context of the city layout, located close to the swish-o burb of Glenelg, and only about 6 blocks from the city beaches.

Hot. Yup, stinkin hot! Not unusual to regularly hit low 40's at this time of year, not nice.

Anyway, it's been a good few weeks with the move from Tassie. My last games of cricket for the Mowbray CC for a while, great to get my 150th game up before I left. A nice little farewell night with everyone @ festivale in the Launceston park, a slightly hungover trip across Bass Straight to catch up with Moo and "spew bag specialist" Plunkett, including a venture to the St Kilda beach festival. Mitch looks like finally getting a run in the big game, AFL boundary "white maggot", should be worth a spiffy new collage mate!

In Adelaide, enjoyed a bit of a trip to the Cricket @ the beautiful Adelaide oval to watch the Tigers smash the local Redbacks into submission, and plenty of beach runs with my somewhat out of shape (though as Grant says, round IS a shape) Bella the staffy! Waiting on Rego for teaching before embarking on the daunting task of relief teaching in a new city.
