Day trip to Nimbin today. The weather was shocking as usual, raining again and started to get sick of it. On the way there we stopped off at a waterfall that you usually swim in but the water was brown and it was raining so everyone ran back into the bus. We drove some more then stopped for a BBQ. Sophie helped make the salad while the driver cooked the snags and patties. Turned out to be a good BBQ and a good feed. We arrived at Nimbin in the afternoon and had a few hours to look around. Nimbin is basically a very small village where people live with alternate views. The main one being the legallisation of cannabis. Every shop sells weed paraphanalia and they're not scared to show it, eventhough there is a police station at the end of the road. Every year they hold the weed olympics and have a legalisation rally! We walked around the museum and spoke to a few weirdo's. It was a bit different to go there and was a good day out. Got us out of the hostel as we were bored sat inside with the rain. M x
Why we have decided to do a blog is to have a backup of all our memories while we travel the world for eight months. The fact that we will probably lose our diaries, our cameras and memory sticks we will have this to fall back on. Plus it saves us both writing separately to our family members and blocking up Cathy´s facebook wall!!... full info
