We’re now in a quaint yuppie town called Noosa; there is a small little strip for their city center and a beach on either side. Tom and I are now the only two guys in our little group of 8 and decided we needed to go for a kayak across the river. There are kayaks free to hire for as long as you like, they’re shit but free so who’s complaining? The river closest to us is full of speedboats and Jet Skis so the plan was to check out some sand banks in the middle then look up prices for renting some jet skis. We crawled across some slippery rocks and jumped in the water with our boats paddling them to the middle sand bank. As we neared it I looked over and saw a massive bird; as I got closer I realized it was a Pelican, weird looking birds… Then as we finally reached our destination it appeared as if the sand was moving but it turned out to be millions of blue crabs all moving in formation. I jumped onto the island and chased them around until the novelty wore off, good fun. The jet skis were $75/halfhour,
we said the hell with it.
I really didn’t want to go out and spent money again so we went and got food from the supermarket and cooked that up, Alfredo chicken pasta.. pure shit. We then we decided to have a movie night so Tom and I made a cinema in our room by moving everything around and making seats. Ten of us piled into the room and watched ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’ and then after a short intermission and with a smaller crowd ‘Kicking and Screaming’. Its now the next morning and we’re going to go get food for a picnic and then kayak across to crab island for some eats. I’ll take pictures.
