Well definately more relaxed after a few days in Noosa, and two well deserved lie-ins. Yesterday and today were spent on the beach and wandering round the high street.
Met an Irish guy called Gary in our dorm who can talk till the cows come home but was very funny and had us all hooked on stories about his nieces and family back home, throwing in an irish song every now and then and asking if we knew it (we didnt).
Have eaten lots of ice cream since we had 2 for 1 vouchers from the hostel. I will tempt you with some of the flavours:
mint choc chip
cookies and cream
dutch choc chip
vanilla
cappuccino choc coated coffee beans
white choc and caramel
devils choc
and.....all the sprinkles and nuts you can eat!!!!!!
Going to Brisbane tomorrow for a week had to skip Surfers Paradise because the buses were full but apparently its not that great.

Brisbane is really nice, first day we arrived and planned via lonely planet what we were going to do. We headed out to the South Bank Cinema and watched The Other Boleyn Girl and indulged in some cookies and cream cheesecake from the coffee club.
On Thursday we got up early and caught the train to White Water World for an amazing day, had such a good time, awesome slides, snoozed in the sun and then did all the rides again.
Its Matts birthday so we all went down stairs to the Down Under Bar and had a great night. filled with drinking games and dancing we even had a go at flinging hoops onto a mooses head to win free drinks.
Next day was spent recovering from a pretty decent hangover and unfortunately we had planned to go to the XXXX Brewery tour (not great when that particular drink was the cause for said hangover). Brewery was interesting though and had a burger and chips after in the bar which helped. We spent the evening in our room reading and Kathleen had a very wierd visit from a guy called Jim who was clearly drunk, had the hiccups and wanted to kiss her. lol.
Today we moved rooms as it was cheaper that the one we were currently staying in, then we headed to the Brunswick st markets had a coffee and read our books. Looked in on an amazing cathedral on the way back which apparently is the only French Gothic Cathedral in the Southern Hemisphere!

Oh My God!!! Best night ever! Headed down to the bar round 9pm after meeting the girls in our dorm room. Richard the manager/MC gave Kath, Lauren and I free drinks for the first half hour which turned into free drinks all night! Obviously you can see where this is going and it was again the cause for yet another hangover but was worth it as we had so much fun dancing til the early hours with all the girls we'd met further up the coast too.
Had some breakfast and grabbed a coffee in the morning and walked to the cinema in rather fetching $2 ponchos in green, pink and white. We definately made a few people smile but we had the last laugh when we reached the cinema where people were trying to dry themselves under hand dryers ha!

Last full day in Brisbane today. We went to the museum over the river which had a pretty cool animal exhibition on an awesome section on turtles and sea snakes. We played an educational kids card game and tried to see if we couold jump further than a beetle. oh and also found out that I come up to about the groin area of worlds tallest man! (hope we never meet that could be embarrassing!
Went to Down Under Bar for the last time and had yet another great time. Didnt do quite so much dancing but Kath still got very drunk and we met 3 guys who we spent the night chatting to about the usual traveller stuff. Noah was from New York, Steven was from Wales and Simon was from somewhere near London I think and looked like Maxwell from Big Brother.

Kathleen had a well deserved hangover this morning, but still found the video wed taken of her very funny. Caught the Oz bus at 1.30pm and met up with Ricky and Clare (the couple we went to Fraser Island with).
Next stop ZORBING! It was amazing and everyone should do it. Got taken to the top of a hill where we were sprayed with water before diving into the tiniest hole into giant ball filled with water. It was so funny I laughed all the way down getting all tangled up (check the video on facebook if you can).
Arrived in Byron Bay @6 it wasnt raining but by 7 it was peeing down and hasnt really stoppedsince.
Went to a bar called Cheeky Monkeys for a cheap dinner and then got to drinking again. Coyote Ugly night! Met some guys we hadnt seen since Mission Beach so was awesome to catch up with them. Danced on the tables and had a great night Im gonna miss the girls sooo much when they leave Byron and its very tempting to carry on travelling with them but would then be in Sydney for ages.
