We left Melbourne at 8AM on our skybus shuttle, arrived at Brisbane Airport at 12:15PM, and after 2 very hungry and slightly grouchy hours, we made it to our cute little hostel, the Halse Lodge, in Noosa. A far cry from our city hostel, our new room featured high ceilings, twin beds, a ceiling fan, and french doors opening onto a spacious lanai-complete with rattan furniture. We quickly changed from our winter gear into tank tops and flip flops, and set out to explore the adorable seaside town of Noosa. First stop:food. We happened upong the Noosa Surf Club overlooking [View Full Entry]

As mentioned in the last post, I was weather delayed in Woolgoolga a total of 5 days. A strong low was centered off Coffs Harbor (17 miles south). As soon as it finally moved on, there was another low, much weaker moving in. I decided to go - when opportunity knocks [View Full Entry]

6th January 2009 After a fantastic nights sleep, (well every night is fantastic for me) I got up reasonably early to see David dressed in his Australia Zoo Uniform, and very smart he looked indeed. Dave leaves really early, but fortunately doesn’t have to far to travel before getting to work. The dogs, Oaky, Malee, and King were full of beans and had their pigs trotters to keep them amused. I sat outside typing up Naughty Wombats, it was lovely and warm, a cool breeze wafted across the shady veranda. Ruth appeared in the kitchen and prepared herself for her day [View Full Entry]
