Ready for fishing!
We got up at 05:30 and Sophie went out for a ride and to do computrainer. I phoned Chris and talked to him for a little while while Dad and Richard were getting the fishing gear ready. We then all got dressed and headed out for Bribie Island and Pumistone Passage.

We grabbed some brekkie en-route and as it kept raining, we looked round loads and loads of shops until we finally found a little newsagents that sold ponchos. We bought three ponchos (and managed to get a discount as they had been there so long) and were then ready to go and get on the boat and start the fishing.

We got to the marina and sorted out the boat hire with Robyn. We got everything we needed in the boat and headed out of the marina (with Richard as skipper). We decided first to try fishing at the mouth of Ningi creek and it was here that Dad caught a narrow barred mackerel, and Richard caught two silver breams. One of the breams was quite big actually, about half a kilo, which for that species is impressive!

We then moved to the oyster beds and

Dad managed to hook something MASSIVE, but unfortunately it dove to the bottom and managed to get the line tangled in one of the crab pots that is down there. We managed to get the line free in the end with a bit of skillful driving from Lauren and a lot of pulling on the rod from Dad.

The weather was not too good, it kept raining and we would get absoultely SOAKED. Then the sun would come out and it would be REALLY hot. The water was quite smooth by the creek and over the oyster beds.

When we didn't catch anything for a while, we moved over to the shipwreck where last time, Dad and I caught tailor, flathead and a flounder (the bigger fish that are in the passage). It was VERY rough. We were being thrown all over the place in the boat. Dad then did something amazing and caught a SHARK! Yes, a real Aussie shark! It was a shovel-nose shark and when Dad and Richard finally managed to get it in the boat, it was thrashing around and getting quite angry! We took some photos of it and the took the hook

out and threw it back.

The waves then became too big and we headed back into the marina. By the time we got back, we were drenched and our eyes were full of salt. We drove back to Brisbane and stopped for lunch on the way back.

Sophie and I did the food shopping while Dad and Richard stayed in the appartment and "relaxed". We packed away the food shopping while Dad and Richard cleaned the fishing things and fired up the BBQ.

We had a BBQ for dinner and played Uno attack which is one of the best games that I have ever played. The scores are currently: Chris-O = 181, Lauz-O = 199, Soso-O = 378 and Dick-O = 302. We are going to carry on playing throughout the three weeks, and are even taking the game to New Zealand.
