1. Arcadia Beach Guest House- right on the beach, king sized bed, amazing shower, breakfast waiting for us in the morning, picked up from the ferry in a Rolls Royce, our own fridge..does it get any better?
2. Relaxing on beautiful coral strewn beaches- Alma Bay, Geoffrey Bay, Horseshoe Bay
3. Wine, brie, bread and shapes for dinner on the front porch overlooking the ocean
4. Friday night dinner at the RSL- RSL stands for Returned and Services League. They are found in most towns in Australia, and are basically the same thing as the Elks (shout out to Big Tim!). Friday nights at the Magnetic Island RSL they have an open air market with produce, food stands, and crafts- cheap dinner, drinks, and to top it all off..penny candy!
5. Dancing the night away at XBase backpacker bar- if anyone asks, we're 21!
6. Scenic though ill-marked hiking trails to spectacular lookouts.
7. Jumpshots at dusk at Alma Bay.
8. Swimming in Horseshoe Bay after a long hike. We saw a porcupine on the hike ps!
9. Drying our laundry in the sunshine- not
that we had a choice!
10. Bundaberg Rum and Cola- premixed in a can, complete with polar bear logo (guess who wanted to buy them?). By the way, it's #10 for a reason...disgusting!!

Oh boy, Uncle Tim's gonna love that picture of Maura with the sign. Looks like you're still managing to have a good time. Your jumps are getting higher......anything to do with your "diet"?? All the pictures are just fabulous, (is that an Aussie you're dancing with Re?? He looks cute (is he kinda short or is it just his "moves" on the dance floor that make him look that way? ) It looks like the perfect spot for a vacation.....soooooo jealous! Miss you. Love, didi
I'm not positive, but I think the practice is paying off...I'm seeing an improvement in the vertical leap from the first jump shots to these, by the end of the trip, you will be dunking a basketball!
Ladies! I'm sooo jealous!! The island looks dreamy, the beaches fab, the food makes my mouth water (not so sure about those shapes thingies, though) and I certainly wouldn't mind jiving the night away with a 21-year-old backpacker. Oh and those sunsets look almost unreal!! Great stuff. Keep it coming! Take care, Biz.
Can you bring home that sign? I think Tracy might like it. Showed Dad the blog. He likes the RSL.
I kinda feel bad now that Jimmy and I didn't pick you up from the airport in a Rolls Royce??
they are great! Have you found the wild turkey and cola canned yet?
