12th-14th

Arrive early in the evening Phil and Zoe already here somewhere. Find a hostel that resembles a block of flats somewhere in leamington and quite rowdy too...fisrt things first a shower.....much needed too! Then sesh clothes straight on and out to a lovely wine bar to meet up with the parents ...Phil ZOe. Nice and cheap wine bar Zoe already on it withabottle of wine down so we join them for a couple more before locating the nearest pumping club Bank. Bit of dance music and R&B for Zoe perfect . even more perfect is the price sof thedrinks $4 for a double vodka mixer....and its gets better the cute asian bar man takes liking for me and as the night goes on my drinks go from $3 to $2 to free.....ooo yeh...it's because I'm gorgeous apparently ...I don't believe him but if it means free drinks I'll take that! Dance drink Dance Zoe sleepy drunk sop Phil unspikes her drinks and gives her soda and lime no vodka when whe thinks its vodka...good call she livens up and we dance forever. Katie Jonny Zoe and Phil still manage to get broed before Caz and and leave ....we are abandoned with the 15yr olds that are remaining tin the club...oh well dance drink dance til the end and thent he searhc for food...NONE. There is no food here so we are stuck with the hostel vending machine...and I spy a phone box and at 5am make a drunken call I haven't made for a while to Matt and Lucie. Missede their faces and awesome to speak to them again despite not really remembering what I said or what they said...pretty sure I said I missed them though and thats all that matters! 6am bed times whoops ferry at 10am.

So no sleep and still drunk massive headache too we fumble to the ferry port and make our way over to Magnetic Island just a short trip off the coast. Hostel smells like boiled cabbage there are grandparents everywhere but there is a hell of a good steak sandwich for lunch. Have a nap and try to sleep off the hangover ....failed try to swim if off in the lagoon thats just outside...failed so try to eat it off with a trip to the supermarket. Across the wya we spot a moke hiring place...a moke being what I considered a road wortthy glorified go kart with no roof....perfect...we hire one! Jonny and I asign ourselves as the drivers and we go kart arond the island! Go up to Picnic Bay to watch the sunset over tOwnsville an dthe fishermen feeding the sea eagles that cirlce about on the white wooden pier. Beautiful yet again but then there hasn't been a day in Australia when the sky has looked anything less than spectacular.

Make it back alive and very windswept to the evenings activities at our hostel...a toad race..oh yeh ...the man hosting looks a bit like a toad as does his wife and the toads well they're slimey. But from nowhere a crowd has gathered and bets are placed ont he toads to hop out of a ring apparently an island famous event that happens every week...thrilling. Actually was quite entertaining the host was pretty funny but the race itself...not so. Hangover bed time!

MOKE DAY!!

We have the moke all day so set fof to explore the island although it does break down at one point and we have to push it back to the hiring place but do get a brand new one.....I didn't break it dad just befor eyou email me and ask me what I did....it just died of it's own accord! Drive on up to Horseshoe bay for a swim in the stinger nets that prevent form getting stung...well try pretty sure the water lapping over the top could carry a fair few stingers in it! Oh yeh and play on the kids playground....the third one in 24 hrs...when kids aren't about be warned we love them ha ha! Tom Cruise it back down to the forst walk, a bushwak up through the hill sof magnetic island where teh posts for guns and the lookout was statione din WWII . spot a wild koala in the tree on the way up....again much like in the Zoo looks fake and teddy bearish but stillpretty cool to find one whilst on a walk. have a walk aroung the gun turrets and amunition stores before reaching the very top for the lookout and what a view ocean for as far as the eye can sea in front and the australian mainland behind...sunny day too crystal clear. England so far away now it's hard to imagine as well asall our friends and family hopefully thinking about us too...if not well you should be ...we're on the other side of the world!! Stumble back downt he rocks and cliff edges back to our Moke. Drive on over to Geoffrey Bay for some more wild animal spotting ...wild rock wallabys this tiem hoping in between the rocks so close to the sea and quite friendly little charaters too ..rat faced though! LCimb some giant boulderrs cut a chunk out of my toe getting down...Jonny did warn me...but I wanted to be the king of the castle and I was despite the blood whoops! Reluctantly return the moke in the evening and get back to hostek to watch the evening Cuccaburra feeding....strange place this one. Have a cheap rump steak for $2.50 ...as in a pound have a cider and watch some tv whilst the coked up lady at the bar tries to befriend us....no one else about though!
